Home Entertainment Center Enables Interactivity Between Consumers And Content Providers
CES - Las Vegas - January 8, 2000 - In the desire to merge broadcast content and Internet content, set top box, Internet appliance and home entertainment manufacturers want a proven solution that meets the needs of consumers and content providers. Today, Ch.1 announced their integrated, high-resolution Internet and entertainment TV platform available for purchase later this month and designed around the Tvia (NASDAQ: TVIA) CyberPro streaming media processor product family.
The Ch.1 Internet entertainment platform offers content providers the immediate capability to display broadcast and Internet content simultaneously. For example, viewers can simultaneously watch ABC's popular show, "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire", along with their corresponding website through picture-in-portal mode, enabling interactivity between the program and the viewer.

Tvia Technology
Tvia's combination of software and a dedicated streaming media processor engine reduces strain on the main CPU. Tvia's CyberPro streaming media processors include the CyberPro2010, CyberPro5000 and CyberPro5300 product families. The CyberPro streaming media processors enable Internet enabled devices , broadband set-top boxes and digital televisions to display both television broadcast and Internet content simultaneously with no conversions necessary.
A Tvia streaming media processor enabled Ch.1 to reduce their development time and costs via a flexible streaming media processor engine. Software tools from Tvia also allowed Ch.1 to easily customize the home electronic product for multiple regions, using a single platform.
