Concurrently, Tvia has released its turnkey, low cost HDTV LCD-TV reference design. This combination offers LCD-TV manufacturers worldwide the lowest BOM cost in the market for LCD-TV while offering the highest possible picture quality for the 17”-32” HDTV LCD-TV market.

SANTA CLARA, Calif.- March 9, 2006 - Tvia, Inc. (NASDAQ small cap:TVIA), a leading provider of multimedia digital display processors for advanced TV, emerging digital display and consumer electronics markets, announces the availability of the Tvia TrueView 5725 and TV5725 turnkey Reference Design Kits based on the TrueView 5725 advanced multimedia digital display processors.

The LCD-TV market continues to grow at 54% per year. The fastest growth area for the digital TV flat panel display market is the low cost LCD TV aimed at the bedroom TV, the kitchen TV or kids bedroom. This market favors smaller sizes and is cost sensitive.

Tvia has targeted this market with its newest release of the TrueView 5725 chipset which is focused specifically at this segment. It was specifically designed to address the 17”-32” low cost, high quality LCD-TV. Previously the chips available in this market segment were inexpensive, but also lacked picture quality, integration, and features. Tvia’s new TrueView 5725 is a fully integrated chip which allows for a lower BOM (Bill of Material) for the LCD-TV by integrating key modules into the chip thereby lowering the cost of the actual TV board itself. While the TV5725 reduces the BOM cost it also dramatically increases the picture quality by adding significant video enhancement technology and video noise reduction that prior to the TV5725 release was only available on the high end, much larger LCD-TVs.

In conjunction with the release of the TV5725 chipset, Tvia has also released their latest turnkey HD LCD-TV Reference Design Kit based on the TV5725 chipset. This new reference design has the lowest BOM (Bill of Material) cost in the industry with a total BOM cost of $30 for EU version and $25 for North American versions. Included in that BOM are the critical interfaces for ATSC and DVB, DVB-T and DVB-S, while adding such quality enhancements as 3D decode which was previously only available on high end LCD-TVs. The combination of the TV5725 and the turnkey 5725 LCD-TV reference design allows manufacturers to get into the fastest growing market segment of the LCD-TV space and be in mass production within 45-60 days.

“We are very proud of our newest TrueView 5725 chipset and our Turnkey 5725 Low Cost HD/SD LCD-TV design.” said Eli Porat, CEO, Tvia, Inc. “It has allowed us to add several new major manufacturing customers in a short period of time. Especially manufacturing partners like Suntrue in China and several others that have a large demand for low cost, high quality LCD-TVs” said Mr. Porat.

Tvia’s new turnkey Reference Design Kit (“RDK”) includes the software applications, hardware, sample boards, PCB layout, BOM (bill of material), schematics, documentation, and extensive SDK, all based on the TrueView 5725 chipsets. The Tvia RDK eliminates the lengthy design cycle by offering everything a manufacturer needs to go directly to PP (Pre/Pilot Production) and MP (Mass Production) in DTV for both HD/SD LCD-TV and HD/SD PTV markets. The reference design kits also include 1-2 reference design boards, tuner codes and tables for both EU and NTSC markets, OSD, 1000 page Teletext, close caption, V-chip, remote control, and extensive SDK, along with many other additional feature integrations.
